I thought I won’t spend a minute writing yet in this website untill I finish up with all my assignments or have written all my assessments. Well, not this case obviously, I might have been experiencing a sort of “writer’s block” with my school works but my fingers could not resist typing now this page…(thanks to jelly beans and cudbury roses, they’re a beaut!)

Yes, for days and weeks now, my mind is set to finishing my assessments. I took the courage of taking a short course which is called Education Assistant at the nearby Education Center in my town. It started last October 19,2006. Well, up to this point, am only happy I did it, but, to tell you the truth, it takes a lot of drive, enthusiasm, willpower.. all the fruits that provide you a happy spirit I suppose. Have I got those, I suppose… a fraction of the cost!

Should I tell you that I have been a CEO in the Domestic department of this household for ten (10) loooong years. I’ts a heck of beaut experience though but going back to study this time? Goodness, much, much different!

Well, what I am saying is that, I was out of the professional arena for long time. I’ve been feeding and nursing babies, cleaning bottoms, cooking, travelling with a cot or if not a pram or stroller, selective sleeping…. on and on and on… still going (Energizer,, something like that). But, this year, starting February, there’s going to be a change. My youngest will now start attending pre primary classes 5 days a week! Imagine that, I don’t have those 5 days a week to myself in the last 6.5 years of my prime life! (I still am, I’m still prime and I keep telling my self that) so, in preparation for this big event (for me), I took up studying, that is, learning how to be an Education assistant at school, of course. You would think, haven’t had I enough of these children? my calling? not letting go of children? no no no.

I started this course because I can do this 2 days a week while both of my children were at school last year, my youngest Bien was still in kindergarten then and only goes for 2 days a week. Class time starts at 9 am and finishes at 2.30pm. Here in Oz, school bells at 8:45am then home again by 3:05. So no big deal for me. Should I finished this, I get to have a qualification of Certificate 3, get to work in a school environment in school housrs, thus, still have time to pick up and drop my kids to school. So I thought, why not enroll and take it it from there. So, I paid the enrollment and yes, I called myself A MATURE STUDENT! and boy, you would agree with me if you have seen me struggling to string down the words on my 1 page Essay writing. One paragraph, 1 week. (thanks to the man of the house, he took weeks of leave and took the kiddos camping, swimming, biking, exploring, adventuring and all things that are great and fun.

Might wonder, why I can write here and not in my assignments, well when you write a blog, you’re free to just rant on anything you’re heart desires. With assignments? yes, there are topics to be discuss in 250 words, 1 page etc. And stick to the subject mate, focus, use keywords! reference…concentrate (the problems were, there’s laundry, dinner to cook, dishes to wash etc) I can only say…help myself!

So, here I am, in this stinky hot day 40 degrees in Perth. Sitting in front of the computer to gather my references for an assignment. While the rest of the household members are swimming and playing with families up in the hills of Roleystone.

Look at the bright side… This, if time permits, will be over by February 15. Well, not quiet, coz although all assessments should be submitted by then, (I have 12 and finished 3, and its 28 January) an on the job training will soon take place, anytime after Feb 15. Well, thats another thing to think about…
for now, am just glad,

for I get to write again here, with out even thinking..
ta! wish me luck.

I promise, I will be back with more interesting things and bits and pieces of whats going on in one of the households here in Perth.

G’day everyone and welcome to the Sand Castles! Why Sand Castles?  Well, first, we live in a very great place close to the prestine Cottesloe Beach and Leighton, all just minutes away to walk from our very own cul de sac.   And yes of course, what’s more idyllic is the walk to and fro in the sparkling stretch of sand of these beaches.  When the weather is not too bad, meaning beautiful and just perfect, we get on our thongs or you call it tsinelas or flip flaps and down we go to the beach where Melody and Bien are either chasing the waves or hording seashells to add up to their collections.  And if its early morning, as hubby does on summer, run to the famous Cottesloe and swim just before the rest of the population of the Western Suburbs are awake (and the member of his household too).  Me, (am the writer and a care taker as you know) not quiet fitness ambitious but…getting there I tell ya.  So I treat my self to a solitaire walk (once hubby comes back from his swim) along the footpaths of Rule Street to Minim Cove to Mosman Park that overlooks the river Swan, have I mentioned the alluring mystic blue waters of the Swan River here in Western Australia? Oh, you’ve got to ger here to see and to believe. Most of the lucky and precious mornings I have is that, I get to see the dolphins swimming as well.  I don’t take my eyes off them, I just watch until they dissappear, maybe hiding under the boats in the jetty or just sneaking through, ready to surprise someone else from the other side of the river. Or other times, the fellow walkers, dogs leashed or unleashed, ready to smile or mutter Hello, good mawnin, howarya?

And finally, CASTLES, well if you know us, you will know why, but Just in CasE! (as my girl would say)….that’s one of our two syllable name.  I fancy saying we live in a Castle, but nuh!  our tiny (to Aussie Standard) abode is much more fun and cosy for little darlings to mock around.

So till next time,I must say, seeyaladeron and for the mean time, keep the barbies smokin!

Oh, by the way, I seldom give a speech, so let me take this opportunity to do so.  Here it goes, To the extra talented, wonderful, innovative, ever resourceful, My goodnes! ridiculously loyal siblings Catherine Ann  and Goldwyn, thanks for putting up with me, and very much so for being the pillars of this website.  You done it, just have to bear with it for the rest of your lives(hahahahahhahah).  Cheers to you both.
