I was reading the community paper one afternoon, then saw an article about senior and junior prom. Then couldn’t help imagining my own daughter when she get to that stage herself. Now that would mean something to me definitely… I would say, I will relingquish my younger days to thy honor…. bit poetic, but looking back, when I was just sweet 15, (oh dear… not that long really, hahahaha) I vividly remember how I did it back then, the night to be much observe has come, every one in their new dresses, well most of them and here I am, in my modest looking attire. Not sure if it was still in fashion but am sure, I had a ball. My mum always remember the moment I went on stage to speak, she found out that the hems were uneven, coz she took a photograph and it shows! The night went well, but surely, I could have done it better, if only I have found cheap prom dresses , I could have impress the boy of my dreams that time who without apprehension, handed me a freshly cut Banda Sanderiana Orchids (Waling-Waling) from his mother’s beautiful flower garden (later I know what happened to him). But of course, at times, circumstances eludes us of things we want to have.
Well, still a few years before my girl will take her turn, by then, she will be just as lucky as me, but in a different circumstances.
