It’s been two weeks now since we landed back here in Perth, yet the bags were still left unpack and souvenirs and brick a bracks still hanging in one place waiting to be disposed and looking for its own place at home.

Am still in the process of reorganising stuff around the house and getting ontop of my posts, emails and bills and so on, but the memories we have on the recent holiday just keps creeping in. Well, it was a whole month of September and the stay in Davao City was just a big break….
The children I will always come back home to Davao from to time should resources permit but the highlight of the overall trip is always the “side trip” as we all call it.

This time it’s the Island of Sentosa in Singapore. We arrived in Singapore finally at 2 o clock in the morning. We flew Cebu Pacific airways so that brought us to land in the quaint budget terminal of Singapore. I was hoping we all get into the queue earlier but alas, the two bambinos declared they needed a visit to the parents room and so we did just to find out that we are miles (I should say) away to get cleared from the immigration. Thankfully I spoted an empty lane meant for APEC and crew only, and without hesitating I rushed along with my two young sleepy heads and declared…”Australian Passport Please”. The officer wanted to deny us I guess but has the heart when he saw my littlies barely opening their eyes so in less than 10 minutes we were all cleared at the immigration. (later I know, I have to get myself an application for an APEC card on the official website)

The next thing to worry about was our luggage. All four bags has been recovered except for the smallest blue wheely bag of Bien that was full of hotwheels cars! This point in time, i can’t afford to lose it. There’ll be tantrums, showdowns coming up. And Alas, bob is your aunty!, it creeped out eventually. This time, my patience has been at its lowest.

Off to find a car to take us to Changi Village hotel, I thought we going to get a free ride form the hotel but not, so thats ok, I am not really expecting too much at two oclock in the morning anymore, so I hire a cab. We are lucky this time. We got Mr. Lim who drives a Maxi Cab, and he just knew, what service I will need form him.

He picks us up the next day from the hotel and took us to Sentosa. He often offered to get our lunch, a cheap 2 dollar healthy lunch long the way, still close to the village. This time, excitemnet is brewing upon the prospect of finally staying at Sentosa Island at Siloso Beach Resort and to see the show of Songs of The Sea in that evening.

So we checked in, and was a given the room the non smoking room, away from busy buzz of a resort hotel, just what I needed indeed. The receptionists were all very helpful, the concierge was very accomodating and the rest of the staff we met on the corridors e.g. cleaners were all courteous and polite. And the complimentary breakfast was superb. My two little munchers never ran out of interesting food to eat. Just as well we go down around 9.30 in the morning. what we ate could last even after lunchtime.

I might keep writing about it, as it was a charming little holiday.
